Maria “Mia” Dominguez is a native of the Chicagoland area. She's passionate about helping young adults encounter Christ in genuine community and discover how faith transforms every aspect of life: physical, academic, personal, and professional. In her role as campus minister at St. Thomas and through her past experience, she lives out this mission daily.
In college, Mia served young adult and youth ministries in Aurora, IL, and Naperville, IL, in leadership roles that bridge faith, community, and formation. Her experience includes leading high school and college students, giving talks, and facilitating discussions on faith, vocation, and mental health. Through these roles, Mia has sought to create spaces where young people can wrestle honestly with life's questions and discover the transforming love of Christ.
In graduate school, Mia interned at Aurora University's Wackerlin Center for Faith and Action, where she coordinated social impact trips and student belonging initiatives. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Aurora, and specialized in clinical therapy and faith-based social work.
Known for her relational and authentic approach, she accompanies students with warmth and depth. Mia continues to help students grow in faith and emotional maturity, encouraging them to engage the world with joy, compassion, and purpose.
