Fr. Peter Lewitzke, OP

Originally from Grayslake, Illinois, Fr. Peter Lewitzke, OP, was ordained in 2023 and joined the St. Thomas Aquinas team that summer. A graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago with a degree in economics, he first encountered the Dominicans there and was drawn to their brotherhood and preaching mission. He's had a passion for campus ministry ever since his time as a student. 

That passion carried through his formation years, which included a pastoral internship in campus ministry at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He also served in Spanish-language ministry in St. Louis and participated in a wide range of experiences — from hospital and jail chaplaincy to summers in Kenya, Puerto Rico, and France. 

In his free time, Fr. Peter embraces his nerdy side. A former math and debate team president, he still enjoys crossword puzzles, Jeopardy!, and hiking — an interest sparked in his Boy Scout days.
